Ewa Michalak SM Tattoo in 65F

This bra isn't officially released yet, but I saw it posted on Ewa Michalak's facebook page and just had to have it. I emailed the shop and Kaska told me I could order it if I wanted. I feel so stupid though because I ordered the wrong size! I thought that I took all my unpadded bras in a 65F so that's the size I ordered. Looking through my other SMs here at home, I apparently order a 65FF. So keep in mind that this bra is a size too small. I'm keeping it anyway because who knows when/if I'll get another chance to order it!

The SM Tattoo is a gorgeous tan based bra with black lace over it. With warmer tanner skintones, it should look like the mesh just disappears. On my pasty self, that doesn't happen but it's still an absolutely beautiful bra. I was a little disappointed in the quality of the lace because there are loose threads at the end of all the embroidered bits. I'll just have to be super careful when I wash it. It has a big bow on the gore of the bra and the front/back of the briefs. It has removable cleavage straps and fully adjustable regular straps. I love how this bra looks and I wish I had gotten the right size.

I have had the song "Feeling Myself"playing in my head as soon as I put this bra on. Look at it! It almost looks like it fits perfectly. I have quad and the wires are a smidge too narrow for me and the gore doesn't tack as well as my SMs do but I'm so happy that this bra mostly fits. The band is tight. It measures only 28.5. While that is perfect for me, others who prefer a looser band might want to size up in this style. In the future I'm going to order 28 band because this one is awesome.

I get a little bit of a flat 3/4 profile because it's too small, but I have almost no visible quad at this angle. I love how low the gore is though and I wish the next size up was so low too.

Here you can see that I bubble over a smidge. I wouldn't wear this with super tight clothes but regular t-shirts and sweaters shouldn't be a problem.

And the extent of the quad. I don't think the wrinkles will be as bad in the next size up, but they'll still be there. The cups feel a little unstable because they're so low coverage, but I can deal with that.

And here is the bra with the removable spaghetti cleavage straps! I think they had a lot to the look. I will probably leave them attached to the bra so I don't have to worry about losing them.

This is the first bra I've received with quality problems that weren't limited to loose threads. There's one spot on the lace that has the black threads connected. It's an easy enough fix with a pair of snips, but still annoying. Also visible is all the loose threads. I'm not sure how that affects durability but I'll be extra careful! I love love love the little silver in the scallops along the edge. It's the only place the silver is visible. The rest of the lace has a beautiful pearly tan embroidery (along with the flowers). The straps attach to a loop in the gore-which is surprisingly hard to do-and little circles under the strap bows. The bow attachment isn't super sturdy but they aren't coming off the gore anytime soon.

I found the underwear to fit pretty true to size. I wish the top ruffle was lace, but as it's not a stretch lace I presume the all soft mesh was for comfort. It's got the ruffle edge instead of leg elastic. I've warmed up to the idea of the ruffle edge so I'm fine with that. For me, the gusset was a smidge too wide and it is lined in cotton. It has big bows on the front and the back. The spaghetti straps on the briefs adjust with the rhinestone adjusters. While this brief matches the bra better than the Ja Wiem set, I wish either the brief had the plan black adjusters or the bra had the rhinestone ones.

Overall, I am in love with this set. It's beautiful and so comfortable and most importantly I feel amazing in it. I'm going to hold on to this 65F for now but if it becomes available in Ewa's shop I will grab a 65FF in it for a slightly better fit. Normally I don't talk price but since this one isn't for sale yet I paid 199 zl for the bra and 79 zl for the brief, or about $80 usd.

Edit: The bra is now available in Ewa's shop for 239 zl.

Ewa Michalak S Jeżynka 65FF

When the M Jeżynka popped up on Ewa Michalak's website, I knew I wanted to try it. Problem is is that the M style is designed for smaller busts and does not come in my size. A quick email to Ewa later I found out that I could order it in an S style and since I was already in contact with Ewa I decided to buy it through here to see what the special ordering process was (I usually buy through Jaimie at Bra Obsessed). It was easy enough: I told Kaska (Ewa's customer service maybe?) what I wanted and what sizes and they set up a special order for me and paypaled me an invoice. It is rather easy. It arrived today and while it is close enough to its pictures, it's different enough for me to not be as in love with it as I was the original M Jeżynka. It does have its pros and cons as I will detail. If you order a different style or a special size, it costs 40 pln extra. It also means you can't return them, which is a bummer in my case because I probably would. This is my first Ewa experience that I've felt this way: bummed out in how it turned out and hoping I could do a return. The quality is also not what I've come to expect from Ewa.

Stock photo

The bra as pictured on the website has gorgeous bright pink cups with lace trim. Note how on the
cups there is almost no lace except for a peek at the bottom-it's almost all solid pink. I'm just speculating here, but I believe the lace repeats too close together for an all pink cup to be possible in a larger size/this style and so the lace that edges the cup is also on the cups themselves-on the seams. It is beautifully well crafted, however-whoever made it has painstakingly lined the lace up so that it repeats and has carefully mirror imaged it and I am thankful for that. The straps too are the same as on the M style which is what I was afraid of. They are thin and stretchy and so awful. They are my least favourite type of strap and I have them adjusted all the away. The band is also slightly big and it stretches to 30.5 inches. The cups however are the narrowest 65FF S style wires I've seen yet at a width of only 5.375 inches. The attention to detail in this bra is very nice and there were some unexpected elements that I appreciate. I also found a real camera to use but these pictures were taken with my laptop because I wanted to catch the last of the sunlight and didn't have time to figure out how to take photos of myself with the camera. Here's how the S Jezynka turned out for me. Be warned, there are plenty of pictures. I might have gotten carried away with the novelty of an actual camera.

With pads. I tried it on this way first because it comes with the pads in and I didn't realize that I would have to tighten the straps allllll the way. You can see here that my cups have lacy pattern on them rather then bright pink which does disappoint me a little but it is growing on me. I know I said this but I really really appreciate all the care that went into the pattern matching of the lace. It's almost flawless-you can see on the angle that there is almost no break in it and it is mirrored on both cups.

The colour was so hard to catch. I love how narrow the wires are in this style. The straps look closer set then normal but because of the style of them they don't feel it. It's hard to put them on or adjust them without them flipping or twisting. They are extremely stretchy and I had to adjust them all the way for the cup to not gape. I like all the little details in this like the purple clasps and the pink metal findings on the straps. I feel like the shape of this one is pointier then my Syrena. I compared the two  and everything is the same though. The bands are the same length so I suspect this fabric/lace is stretchy. It is however very soft. There's a double layer of the knitwear and the lace is only one layer.

Imagine my delight when I saw that the wire channels were purple! It's like my little secret. The cups are lined with foam that feels nice and light-weight and there are cookie pockets with cookies.

So this is probably the best representation of the purples. Close up of the textured strap, bow and pink metal adjuster.

The lace was so hard to capture. The lighter stuff is pearly and not flat but I hope here you can see how beautifully the lace was matched. I know I keep harping on but that stuff is hard to do and I'm impressed!

Here is the thong modeled by my lovely assistant Nigel the sloth. It is entirely sheer except for a panel at the front. It has 3 bows. Even though it is made of stretchy lace I feel that it runs true to size and I love it. I love the fact that it's almost all lace and the lace is soft and stretchy I can tell it'll be super comfy to wear.

So besides the unexpected lace placement and straps, the quality was also unexpected. Normally the quality is flawless but on the wings/back of the band there are several instances where the knit fabric wasn't cut neatly so it peaks over the purple strappy bit. On the thong (I hope my photo shows this) on the back there is elastic running up the thin bit. However, the elastic was not sewn equally so it sticks out far more on the side that is on the bottom then is on the top. I'm sure my boyfriend won't notice but I do and it's unexpected that one of Ewa's sewists let this slide.

This bra is growing on me and I appreciate all the work that went into it and especially that Ewa was willing to make it for me special. Jaimie at Bra Obsessed up in Canada can order this in the M style for 80 CAD or if you would like it a PL or S style she can order it for an extra 15 CAD (around what you would pay if you ordered straight from Ewa). If you want to order from the States if you're in said states, Zathiya does not have it on their site but you can always email and ask them to order for it I do believe. The cost for the S style will be a little higher, but I'm not sure what Zathiya charges. And of course you can order straight from Ewa if you're comfortable doing so. Even though it said ready in 11 days, from ordering to shipping it took mine 22 days but shipping from Poland to the States was only six days! Six! Even though I said I wish I could return this in the first paragraph, I think writing this has helped me change my mind. Even though it's not quite what I have in mind, it is rather lovely and a worthy addition to my bradrobe.

EDIT:

Here are some photos of me wearing the thong since I don't think my fuzzy assistant did it justice:

The lace is really wide and comfortable. I think the decision to use almost all lace works very well with the flirty nature of the bra. It's my favourite style of Ewa's thongs because it is extremely comfortable and looks great.

According to Jaimie at Bra Obsessed, the sizes for custom styles are limited and I can understand why. I would not recommend this bra with these stinking straps to anyone who has very heavy or very large boobs (I hope that doesn't sound bad, I just can't think of a cup range. It might work for someone who's a 30G but not someone who's a 32G so that's what I mean). You know your bust best and what works for you. If you love skinny straps, go for it! If you don't, sadly this might not be the bra for you.

Ewa Michalak S Syrena 65FF and 65G

The Syrena was the one that lured me into ordering a Ewa Michalak bra. Like the sirens she was named after, she called out to me and whispered sweet nothings. As I have little to no impulse control to begin with, it wasn't hard to convince me to buy one. I also bought the matching thong because I absolutely love matching sets, and if I was going to buy something so special I might as well go whole hog. I had been on Bratabase for a little while by then so I did some research into sizes and I thought that the 65G looked good. It wasn't a perfect fit, but it did help me figure out what cup depth works for me. I chose the 65G because of the 9.5ish inches promised depth since my only other fitting bra was an unlined Freya in a 30F with a cup depth of 10. I'm still not sure why I can take a deeper depth in unlined bras that lined bras (the SM Summertime I eventually bought has a similar 9.5ish inch cup depth and fits beautifully).

The S is a 3 piece design, might be a balconette but don't quote me on that. It's higher cut then the PL and CHP designs Ewa also has. I think it's fuller coverage on me than it's meant to be (even in the right size) just because of how short I am and how high-set and tall-rooted my breasts are. It's a thin foam with nice cotton lining. There are pockets for cookies, which are included, that are loaded from the front. The cookies can be used for asymmetry or a little extra boost which is what I prefer them for. The straps are wide set, which is my typical complaint for Ewa, but fully adjustable. On to the pictures!

The 65G:

It looks to be a decentish fit from the front, but again, very full coverage. This bra is so gorgeous though, and all the details are so well thought out. I love those bows but they might not be to everyone's liking. The gore is higher but I did not find it too uncomfortable.

I love the shape I get from this bra. You can see some minor gapping, but the shape is very uplifted and perky. The gapping is minimized here but it was very visible whenever I moved around.

It's hard to see from this photo, but the wires are pretty narrow. However, you can see how close they are to my armpit, and that caused a major issue. The wires were really long and extremely uncomfortable. I could not wear the bra for more than a few hours because of it.

The back is pretty boring. Here you can see how wide set the straps are and how thick they are. Although they have very pretty detailing on the front they are fully adjustable. It just takes some effort. The straps are very soft and comfortable and pose no issues. I like how wide they are.

Because of the gapping I got whenever I wasn't standing still-even with the pads in-and the long stabby wires of doom, I sold this bra and got the next size down. The 65FF photos are taken without the pads in, I needed the pads in the 65G to fill out.

I took these photos in decent light so you can actually see what I'm talking about!

Still fuller coverage than I would ideally prefer, I still get some very nice cleavage out of the 65FF as well as the same lovely shape.

Look at the shape! Look at that uplift! Look at that no gap! I'm in love, can this bra get any better? I am aware that this is the opposite side I had the gapping on, but the difference is pretty much non-existent and this was a clearer, better photo.

You can see how narrow the wires are in this shot. That's what really bummed me out about this size. The original 65G had 5.4 inch wires which are too wide (my ideal is like 5.25). This size, which I was hoping would be narrower, is 5.5 inches wide! What gives, Ewa? This size should be narrower, not wider! It doesn't pose too much of an issue and still provides plenty of support.

Sadly, the placement of the straps didn't really change much. Since the wires in the 65FF are much lower, the straps don't pose too much of an issue and don't really harass my armpits.

With pads. I love how the top ribbon on the seam is green which the vertical one is blue. The lace is pretty but I wish the eyelashy bits stuck over the cup onto my skin. You can also see the ruffly ribbon on the straps. One detail I wish I had a better picture of is the adjusters. The straps are blue, but the adjusters are enameled green. Lovely attention to detail here folks!

With the pads in (which is how I usually wear it) I get the smallest hint of quad. However, I get a little gap down in the bottom of the bra because there isn't enough immediate projection for me-it goes up more like / instead of ) -and the pads help to fill that gap. I feel a little more secure with them in for this reason.

The matching thong is much sheerer then I was expecting but it's not too noticeable when I'm wearing it. I bought a size 40 for my 38 inch hips. It fits okay, I'd say true to size. I'm not sure about Ewa's underwear sizing since I have the Burgund briefs in a 36 which are a perfect fit and the Summertime briefs in a 40 which ride up. I believe that the difference between the two fits is because the Burgund has leg elastic and the Summertime briefs are just overlocked. I don't like that, but I'm rambling. The thong is absolutely just as beautiful as the bra and I'm glad I bought it.

Here is the front of them. You can see the lace and the frill on top. My ipod washed out the colours, but they match the bra. There are two bows on the front and one on the back. They are super incredibly comfy. I know thongs can get a bad rap but I don't feel these at all. They also don't really show up under clothing so they fulfill their purpose.

Finally, this is how sheer it is. This bra is in regular rotation in my wardrobe, and I'm always bummed when it's time to wash it because that means I can't wear it that day! I have another S on the way and the unlined S, SM style, too. It's a great shape and very versatile and I can't have enough.
